STARS RIDING HIGH AT BIKE SHOW 2005!
The
new venue of Stoneleigh Park attracted thousands of visitors last weekend for
the 10th Bike Show.
BMX
fans were treated to a top line-up of riders from all corners of the world –
Nyquist, Bestwick, Tabron, Jumelin and Gomez – over the three day event.
Both
the Amateur and Pro Flatland competitions drew a large crowd who saw amazing
skill, balance and technique displayed on the large course in the Blackdown
buildings at Stoneleigh Park. Chris Wright triumphed as the winner of the
amateur comp and Spaniard Viki Gomez won the Pro final with a superb
performance.
The
Boost No Clips BMX race saw Stephane Barquet winning each round with Liam Worton,
Laurance Mapp and Kelvin Batey close behind.
Jamie
Bestwick proved he is still the man to beat on the vert ramp, effortlessly
creating the biggest air on the Red Bull ramp and pulling the most amazing 900
in Saturday afternoon’s final.
The
street final was a major crowd puller and the atmosphere was electric on the
challenging course built by 414 Ltd. Scotty Cranmer was the talk of the street,
with a huge array of stunning tricks including.
Scotty was
beaten into second place by Ryan Nyquist and Ali Whitton took the third spot.
Rounding
off a top weekend was the Braun Pro Spine final on Sunday afternoon. Guys
who saved their best efforts for last included Dave Osato, Ali Whitton and the
two Ryans – Guettler and Nyquist – with Ryan Guettler the final winner.
Alongside
the action of the weekend, the many great exhibitors at the show ensured the
visitors could catch up the latest frames, accessories, clothing and shoes for
their BMX lifestyles.
